Dan began his property management & investing career in 2005, starting off by running his own 4-unit buildings.  He’s personally done every aspect of the boots-on-the-ground property management game.  

After running small deals from 2005-2011, Dan joined a team that ultimately purchased and owned over 17,000 apartments across the U.S.  He served as CEO from 2016 - 2024, and was sure to never lose touch with the importance of the on-site teams as the backbone of property performance–but he also took turns directly overseeing every single back office capability–and has directly been involved in hiring for all of these roles.

Dan was also a key partner in launching ten real estate technology companies, which included fintech and insurtech ventures.  This led to a deep understanding of technical roles, and Dan was directly involved in the hiring of machine learning engineers, software devs, product managers, solution architects, as well as CTO level hires.

Dan is also a husband and father of four children and his proudest title of all is: DAD. He serves on multiple Boards in the Austin area and has previously served as Founding Chair of Cristo Rey Tampa, a Catholic Prep High School that serves students from economically disadvantaged families, with the aim of a 100% college acceptance rate.
